How is NFS regulated?
NFS Network Financial Services Ltd is a Cyprus Investment Firm by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, License no. 328/17 and authorised under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), to offer Investment Services of Investment Advice and Reception and Transmission of orders on behalf of clients. This authorisation permits us to offer our services, through the provision of cross border passporting to clients located within all the EU member states. See more information here.
Why do I need NFS?
Under EU regulations and depending on your investment preferences and requirements, you may need to appoint a MIFID authorised investment Adviser who will recommend to you suitable and appropriate investments. See more information here.
I already have an insurance policy and a financial adviser, why can't I receive insurance and investment advice from my financial adviser?
If your financial adviser is authorised only as an insurance intermediary then they are authorised to arrange and maintain your life policy under the EU Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) but they are not authorised to be appointed as an Investment Adviser to your policy or trust, unless they are also authorised under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID). Many Financial Advisers therefore choose to introduce their clients to an authorised Investment Adviser who is regulated to provide investment advice directly to a client.
Who manages my investments?
NFS does not manage your money on a discretionary basis but will recommend to you a choice of risk graded Funds, if you accept a recommendation made to you by NFS, you do not have to manage your own portfolio, NFS will monitor the performance of your investment and will periodically provide you with information and a review. How safe are my investments made through NFS?
You will be investing into a product you have selected based on a recommendation from NFS or if applicable your Financial Adviser. Your product provider will receive and hold your client funds, therefore will act as an intermediary between yourself and your chosen product provider and does not handle client funds. NFS will only recommend an EU Regulated product provider.
Why should I talk to a wealth manager instead of leaving my money in the bank?
With rates of interest remaining at historic lows, the purchasing power of your funds on deposit with a bank will be steadily eroded by inflation. It is recommended that you should seek investment advice and invest at least part of your assets in a portfolio of inflation beating investments that will provide real returns over the longer term.
